INTRODUCTION
This section of the Tutorial demonstrates how to set
up the Master file, create the Table of Contents, and
the Index, and finally print the document.
This first part is placed before the Table of
Contents. It, along with the Table of Contents, will
have lower case Roman Numerals for page numbers. When
the body of the document begins, these page numbers
will be changed to normal Arabic numbers.
The page numbers were initialized to Roman Numerals in
the Master file, although this also could have been
done at the top of this file. Notice that Headers and
Footers were turned off at the top of this file.
Generally, the title page is not numbered. Headers
were turned back on for this introduction page.
While Headers and Footers are turned off, this only
suppresses the printing of their contents. It does
not imply that they are of zero length. If the header
was defined as six lines and the footer as five lines,
then these 11 lines will appear as blanks in the
output.
An ODD page break was placed before this page and the
section below to force these two sections to begin on
an odd page.
A LITTLE BIT MORE
The Table of Contents follows this section.
The .TOC_HDR in the parameter section of the Master
file was set as:
.TOC_HDR p=O \\\Table of Contents\\
This forces the Table of Contents to begin on an odd
page. Therefore, no special page breaks need to be
made in the Table of Contents.
